The Staten Island Zoo offers sensory accommodations, such as fidget tools, headphones, and weighted lap bags for no additional cost. All entrances to the zoo are wheelchair accessible, however due to the hilly terrain of Staten Island there may be slopes that make it difficult for some. Benches and seating areas are located around the zoo for those who cannot walk/stand for long periods of time. The majority of the zoo grounds are outside, with the Aquarium, Africa, Rainforest, and Reptile exhibits being indoors. Certain exhibits do get very loud due to the animals present.
