The Department of Labor enforces federal laws such as the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) which prohibits the discrimination against individuals with disabilities and guarantees equal opportunities for individuals with disabilities in employment, transportation, public accommodations, state and local government services, and telecommunications.
However there are some companies go beyond meeting these requirements and actually go further into encouraging individuals with disabilities to apply for employment, embracing and empowering employees with disabilities as they focus more on their abilities rather than their disabilities. There are companies that pride in offering accommodations to truly offer equal opportunities improving not only the success of the company, but the success of their employees as well.
