Helping Hands for the Disabled of NYC is a non profit group that helps significantly disabled adults ages 18 and up. What began as a recreational program aimed at providing disabled individuals with social opportunities and recreation activities has evolved into a network of members and dedicated volunteers. We work together to identify and meet the needs of our community members. Our mission is to empower any blind and/or disabled person 18 years of age or older by offering home assistance, technology/equipment, recreational events, and information and counseling. By providing volunteers and the tools necessary to fulfill personal needs, our organization builds relationships, promotes independent living, and helps our self-directing clients lead richer, fuller lives.
